Going into the Mets' 3rd season in Iron, the team added some big time firepower, signing highly-rated 3rd baseman Gregg Jefferies (94 OVR) for 13,002 points. The team had been in the market for 91 OVR Cleon Jones, but after failing to find one, they moved on and settled on Jefferies and his all-purpose bat. The knock on him is that he isn't a good defender of his position, but the team believe that offsetting that with late-game defensive replacements will help that situation.
Jefferies played for the Mets from 1987 to 1991, hitting .276 with 42 HR and 205 RBI in 465 games.
