In the top of the first, Briggs hit a three-run homer. Wynn threw Porter out at home as he tried to score from second on a Lahoud single. Conigliaro hit a two-out RBI single. The Brewers batted around the order in the inning.

In the bottom of the first, Briggs threw Maddox out at home after he had tagged up on a Harrah fly ball.

Porter led off the top of the third with a home run.

Burroughs led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run to put the Rangers on the board.

In the top of the fifth, Briggs scored from third when Nelson muffed a two-out grounder by May.

In the bottom of the fifth, May threw Harris out at home when he tried to score from second on a Maddox single.

After a leadoff single in the top of the sixth, Ray Burris took the mound for the Rangers. The Brewers loaded the bases with nobody out. Briggs knocked one in with a single. Porter drew a full count walk to force another run in. Theobald scored as Scott beat out the 6-4-3. A walk loaded the bases with one out. A wild pitch scored Briggs. A walk loaded the bases with two out. Heise, in his second at bat of the inning, grounded to first to retire the side.

After six: Milwaukee 10 Texas 1.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers.

The Brewers tallied 13 hits in the win.
