Shigetoshi Hasegawa took the mound for the Angels in the top of the sixth. Martinez picked up an RBI double. Olerud followed with his own RBI double.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Oscar Henriquez took the mound for the Angels.
Paul Abbott took the mound for the Mariners in the bottom of the seventh.
In the top of the ninth, the Mariners loaded the bases with two out. Mike Holtz took the mound for the Angels. McLemore hit a run-scoring single. Pinch hitter Stan Javier struck out to retire the side.
The Mariners out hit the Angels 15-5 in the contest.
