The Ramrods who are now 44 up and 31 down for a .587 pct increase their lead to 5 games over the Rollers of Atlantic City.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:

It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Chadwick League, but last week Art Shamsky of the Atlantic City Rollers reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Shamsky rocked opposing pitching for a .385 average (10-for-26), 6 home runs and 13 RBIs to come away with the award. On the season, Shamsky is batting .266 with 26 home runs and 67 RBIs. He has played in 75 games.

Larry Doyle demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Doubleday League Player of the Week Award. The Chattanooga second baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .480 average (12-for-25) with no home runs and 2 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. Doyle is currently batting .393 with no home runs and 12 RBIs.
