Personally, I dislike knowing that I'll probably be promoted once my team is good enough to compete for a playoff spot. If I make it to the conference championship, then it's on to the next level. But if I'm not dominant yet, why am I being promoted? Once I improve my team enough to compete at the next level, if I make it far enough in the playoffs, I'll get promoted again even if I didn't make it to the championship series and even if my team is not significantly better than others at this level.
So my question is why are we getting promoted if we're not yet dominant? Promoting based on playoff performance is a problem, in my opinion (and some others share that opinion). So what some of us are looking for is a way to deal with this. So my opinion is either don't use playoff performance for promotions or make it so playoff performance can give you a boost at the next level that you just got put into. Otherwise, let me stay at my current level if I'm not yet too strong for the competition at this level.
