Antonio Bastardo (MLB Career: 2009-2017).
No Inglorious Bastard was he, in fact Antonio had a pretty good, if short career as a lefty MLB reliever for nearly a decade., Antonio spent his first six years of a nine year MLB career, with the Phillies. he later made stops with the Pirates and the Mets. While not an all-star, he had a pretty solid career. On the minus side, his career was a bit short, at about 8 1/2 years of MLB service time, with him burning himself out and throwing his last MLB pitch a little bit shy of his 32nd birthday. Some career highlights include Antonio going 6-1 with a 2.64 earned run average and a 0.93 WHIP for the NL East division-winning Phillies of 2011. He also went 3-2 with a 2.32 earned run average for the Phillies in 2013. In 2015 Bastardo went 4-1, with a 2.98 earned run average for Pittsburgh. With the Mets and the Pirates in 2016 Bastardo went 3-0. Bastardo also had a couple of rough years, which accounts for his earned run average rising to a final career mark of 4.01.
Overall Bastardo was 27-20, going 20-18 as a Phillie: 7-2 as a Pirate and 0-0 with the Mets. He was a good middle reliever, who could be called upon to fill the Closer role in a pinch. (12 Saves Overall, 11 Saves with the Phillies).
Bastardo pitched in 419 MLB games and had 93 Games Finished.
