Saints drop game one to the very talented Spokane Riptide.

Game Recap:
Spokane Open Sub-League Series with Win thanks to Johnny
The Spokane RipTide started the Sub-League Series in style today, downing the visiting Saint Paul Fighting Saints at Riverfront Park by a score of 8-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. RipTide shortstop Johnny Pesky was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

Pesky had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the second for the RipTide. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Spokane trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double.

"We came out aggressive," said RipTide manager asuray. "We came out swinging the bats."

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Riverfront Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Dave Righetti for Saint Paul and Tom Glavine for Spokane.
