The Aina Haina Parakeets season has come to a close, being swept by the Kansas City Royals 3-0. The scores were 1-2, 0-1, 0-2.

The Parakeets finished their season with a 97-65 record. 550 runs scored, 443 runs allowed. 2.56 team ERA, with opponents hitting .203 against them.

This team was built completely around defense and it showed. .762 defensive efficiency, +118.7 zone rating and only 39 errors.

The key offensive performer was DH, Willie McCovey with 38 HR and 103 RBI. 103 RBI is a ridiculously high amount for a team that scored so few runs. Pitching was led by Wilbur Wood who went 20-11 with a 2.39 ERA.

This teamed is designed to have the best possible defense without considering hitting. Perhaps they have plateaued.
