In the top of the third, Taussig threw Moon out at home as he was trying to score from second on a Gilliam single.

Buddin led off the bottom of the fourth with a single for the Colt .45s first hit of the game. Mejias brought him home with a one out single. The Colt .45s loaded the bases with two out. Taussig struck out swinging to end the inning.

In the top of the fifth, Moon tied the game with an RBI single.

After a leadoff single in the top of the sixth, Bobby Shantz took the mound for the Colt .45s.

After six: Los Angeles 1 Houston 1.

In the top of the seventh, Wills scored on a Moon sac fly to give the Dodgers the lead. With a runner on first and one out, Dean Stone took the mound for the Colt .45s.

In the bottom of the seventh, with a runner on third and two out, Larry Sherry took the mound for the Dodgers and he got Spangler to fly out to end the inning.

Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45s in the top of the eighth. The Dodgers loaded the bases with nobody out. Aspromonte booteda Wills grounder and Spencer scored a run. Moon drewa full count walk to bring Roseboro home. Tommie Davis scored Frank Howard with a sacrifice fly. With runners at first and second and one out, Dave Giusti took the mound for the Colt .45s and he finally stopped the bleeding.

Ed Roebuck took the mound for the Dodgers in the bottom of the eighth.

The Dodgers got 13 hits in the victory.
