So Syndergaard started the season for me allowing 31 earned runs in 39 1/3 innings, a 7.09 ERA over that span. He allowed at least 5 earned runs in 4 of 7 starts. Since then, he has allowed 5 earned runs in a start once in 23 outings, allowing 34 earned runs in 107 innings, a 2.86 ERA. His worst game early in the season was allowing 7 earned runs against the #1 team in our conference in 2 1/3 innings. In his second start against them, first game after the all-star break, he gave up 1 earned run in 6 innings of work. Quite a turnaround after an awful start.
