Question about historical database

So far, I really like OOTP20. I grew to like 19 a lot as well. But, I did take a break from it during the "sky is falling" video card scare that took place last August. I went back to playing 16 for about a month or so. and then returned to 19 in late September. Played the crap out of it right up to the release of 20.

I didn't enjoy OOTP17, nor did I enjoy 18. 2D classic play was a headache inducing mess for two straight versions of this game. I was not a happy camper, but, I wasn't ready to give up either. Sure enough, when 19 came out, 2D was fixed. Same goes for 20.

But here is my question. Could OOTP create a downloadable update to the historical database that users could purchase and add to an already existing version of the game. For example, say I love OOTP20 a lot. OOTP21 comes out and I dislike the game enough that I end up back playing 20. Maybe 21 doesn't work properly on my computer. It would be cool to be able to keep the historical db current and up to date. I keep seeing folks talking about this 64bit stuff and how OOTP has to go to it, to keep up with the times and just last August we had the "video card" scare. I just don't want the game to pass me by.
