Tonight is the second game in the series in Texas between the Rangers and the California Angels.

Rumor has begun circulating that LF Jim Northrup wants to be traded by the Detroit Tigers once the season is over.

In the top of the second, a Kosco sacrifice fly brought Geronimo in with the game's first run.

In the bottom of the second, Harrah tied the game with a run-scoring single. Broberg got his own RBI single to put the Rangers in the lead. Maddox followed with an RBI single as well. Nelson then singled to load the bases with one out. Wynn went down swinging for the second out. Burroughs then flew to center to end the inning.

In the top of the third, Spencer tied the game with a two run homer.

After three: California 3 Texas 3.

In the top of the fifth, Stanton put the Angels back in the lead with an RBI single. The Angels went on to load the bases with two out. Torborg struck out to retire the side.

Eddie Fisher took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the sixth. Geronimo threw Harrah out at home as he was trying to score from second on a Maddox single.

After six: California 4 Texas 3.

After a leadoff walk in the top of the seventh, Horacio Pina took the mound for the Rangers. The Angels loaded the bases with nobody out. Geronimo brought a run in with a single. Kosco did as well. And Torborg followed suit. Pinch hitter Tony Muser got a two run single. With runners at first and second and still nobody out, Jan Dukes took the mound for the Rangers. The Angels loaded the bases with two out. Stanton drew a walk to bring in another run. Pinch hitter Billy Parker struck out to finally end the Angels six-run inning.

Dick Lange took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the seventh.

In the bottom of the eighth, pinch hitter Frank Howard hit a two-run double.

Gerry Janeski took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the ninth.

Lloyd Allen took the mound for the Angels in the bottom of the ninth.

The two teams combined for 25 hits in the contest.

Final score: California 10 Texas 5.
