After going 3-4 on their road trip, the Colt .45s begin a 7-game home stand with a 4-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Colt .45s are an abysmal 1-11 at home so far in their inaugural season. The Dodgers have won five of their last six and are in a three-way tie for first place in the National League. This is the only game being played today in MLB.

Howard led off the top of the second with a home run. Spencer added an RBI single.
In the bottom of the third, Taussig scored when Amalfitano grounded to third. Despite having allowed a run, Podres had a no-hitter through three.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Mejias singled to break up the no-hitter.
In the top of the fifth, with runners at first and second and nobody out, Dave Giusti took the mound for the Colt .45s. Fairly walked to load the bases with one out. Willie Davis grounded into the 5-2 fielder's choice for the second out. Roseboro grounded to third to retire the side.
After six: Los Angeles 2 Houston 1.
In the top of the seventh, Howard struck again, this time with an RBI double. With runners at first and second and one out, Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45s. Howard went on to score on a passed ball.
In the top of the ninth, Howard hit another solo home run.
In the bottom of the ninth, Spangler scored when Aspromonte beat out the 6-4-3.
The Colt .45s were held to just two hits in the contest.
Final score: Low Angeles 5 Houston 2.
