Import and fill minor league rosters / other historical progession settings

In years past I've always strayed away from historical leagues as the options and complexity of setting one up tends to scare me off. This year I decided that I'm just going to go for it and start a 2008 game with the Cubs.

My goal is to start game in the 2008 season, that I can play into the future and make my own decisions on building my organization, with the OOTP engine in charge of player development so that anything can happen with players either becoming stars or washing out. So, obviously, recal, real-life transactions, etc. will be turned off. Basically, I want a career experience rather than just a season replay kind of thing.

One thing that always killed my interest in the past was the lack of minor leagues and how rookies would generate into the game in their MLB debut year.... Now I see that real minor league players have been added... awesome!

Something has me a bit confused though - is it possible for me to set-up a league where each year (until present day), the amateur draft will be populated with real prospects/minor leaguers? I assume that I should NOT have the "import and fill real minor leagues" option turned on, as I want to be able to build my own farm system rather than just having my minor league system updated with the real minor leaguers that were in the Cubs systems each year.

Also, how does the import historical rookies option work? What happens if I have it turned on along with the import and fill minors option? Sorry for the long post, I just want to make sure to get this thing set up correctly as I'm super excited for the chance to replay and change the history of one of my favorite squads when I was a kid.
