Tonight is the second game in the series in St Louis between the Colt .45s and the Cardinals. The Colt .45s have lost ten straight. The Cardinals have won seven of their last nine.

Bruce had a no-hitter through three.

Oliver led off the bottom of the fifth with a double to bring an end to the no-hit bid. With runners at first and second and one out, Bruce left the game with an arm injury and was replaced by Jim Golden. Golden induced a couple of groundouts to end the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals loaded the bases with one out. Oliver went down on strikes for the second out. Gotay grounded to third to end the inning.

After six: Houston 0 St Louis 0.

In the top of the seventh, Amalfitano tried to put the Colt .45s in the lead with a single but Warwick threw Taussig out at home as he was trying to score from second.

Bobby Shantz took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the seventh.

Jim Umbricht took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the eighth.

After nine: Houston 0 St Louis 0.

Lindy McDaniel took the mound for the Cardinals in the top of the tenth.

Dean Stone took the mound for the Cardinals in the top of the tenth. With runners at first and second, Warwick grounded to short to end the inning.

Dave Giusti took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the eleventh. With a runner on first, Javier popped up to end the inning.

Ed Bauta took the mound for the Cardinals in the top of the twelfth.

In the bottom of the twelfth, the Cardinals again got the winning run on first but this time Musial popped out to end the inning.

In the top of the thirteenth, with a runner on first and one out, Ray Washburn took the mound for the Cardinals and kept the Colt .45s from scoring.

Jim Busby took the mound for the Colt .45s in the bottom of the thirteenth. Pinch hitter Don Landrum flew out to center with the winning run at first to end the inning.

John C Anderson took the mound for the Cardinals in the top of the fourteenth.

In the bottom of the fourteenth, the Cardinals loaded the bases with two out. Warwick flew out to center to end another inning.

In the bottom of the fifteenth, Red Schoendienst ended the game with an RBI double.

The Colt .45s lost despite getting 16 hits. They also struck out 17 times.
