About the League:
The United League is an 8-team alternate-historical league that started in 1951. In lieu of free agency, we use a 'modified reserve clause' system, whereby each team may renew up to half of its expiring contracts and the remaining players go into a Reentry Draft. We just completed 1953, and are about to start the draft, so it's a good time to get in on the league.
About the Team:
The New York Gothams have Jackie Robinson, Larry Doby, Vic Wertz, Early Wynn, Ed Yost, and some other stars. They've been consistent, hovering at or above .500, but with a young rotation that is slowly maturing. They also boast the league's biggest market, and biggest stadium (Yankee Stadium), so the future looks good in the hands of the right manager.
About the Commish:
I've been organizing and running baseball leagues for 15 years, including two OOTP leagues (States League and United League).
This is a small league, so active owners are a must. Lemme know if you are interested, in which case you can tell me a bit about yourself, your OOTP experience, and your general knowledge/interest in 1950s baseball.
Thanks!
