I really hope this means that in July, I start a new save from the preseason with the original rosters, will the current ratings carry over? That’s something that’s been needed for years. Guys like Aaron Judge that have breakout seasons out of nowhere stayed mediocre until the next year’s version unless you used commish mode on them.

Yes, it should work like that. You'll probably have to press a button to update the ratings, it might not do it automatically if you start with preseason rosters, but it should be possible with a button click at the worst
