I felt similarly until I played a little more, came here to educate myself (I still learn new things about this mode on a daily basis), and understood those PayFor teams rise to the top rather quickly and will never be seen from again in your league. Once you have amassed enough points for free and start adding the correct players and not just ones that speak to you, you will start enjoying things more and be much more competitive. There are several players who have figured out how to be very competitive at the highest level employing the correct rosters and the correct time. Brilliant in some cases probably without having spent a dime...
I became what I hated within 8 weeks and started letting the PayPal model of have fun now worry about the $$ $ later take over. My results are slightly better and pretty much what I paid for. I am comfortable with it, my wife would not be if she knew wink wink
I'm a much better person for it now albeit much poorer...
