Walkers news: Sept. 14 -- Madison 2, St. Louis 1
Francisco Lindor's ninth-inning sacrifice fly off St. Louis' Andrew Miller scored Brett Gardner from third base and gave the Madison Muskies a 3-2 win over the River Walkers at Busch Stadium.
Gardner had led off the top of the ninth with a single off Miller and reached third when Brandon Nimmo followed with another single.
Madison had led 2-1 when the Walkers scored once in the bottom of the eighth -- Brock Holt with a pinch-hit double off Juan Minaya to score Albert Almora -- to even the game.
Both teams got strong efforts from its starters.
Casey Lawrence limited the Walkers to one run over six innings. He struck out three and walked one while giving up four hits.
Aaron Barrett, Minaya and Paul Blackburn handled an inning apiece to close it out.
Blackburn's save was the first of the season.
