Walkers news: Sept. 13 -- Madison 5, St. Louis 3, 10 innings
Madison hit three home runs over the ninth and 10th inning to rally for a 5-3 win over St. Louis at Busch Stadium.
Down 2-1, Brandon Drury evened it in the top of the ninth inning with a one-out home run off Chaz Roe.
A mid-season All-Star, Roe has struggled in recent weeks (and came into the game with a cold status) and when asked to get the final two outs, allowed a homer to the first batter he faced.
In the 10th, Adam Climber took the mound for the Walkers and was greeted by a lead-off homer from Chad Pinder.
He retired the next two batters but Francisco Lindor singled to keep the inning going.
Left-hander Jerry Blevins was than brought on to face left-handed hitter Nomar Mazara, who hit a 405-foot blast into the right-field seats.
The loss wasted a strong start for St. Louis starting pitcher Luis Gohara, who alllowed one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out two and walked two.
Aaron Siegers handled the first four innings for Madison, allowing two of St. Louis runs.
Four relievers (Cody Reed (2.0 IP), Nick Vincent (1.0), Aaron Barrett (1.0) and Juan Minaya (1.0)) held St. Louis scoreless through the ninth inning.
Zach Littell did allow a solo homer to Michael Conforto in the 10th, but it wasn't enough as he posted his first win of the season.
