Walkers news: July 19 -- Chicago 8, St. Louis 6
Chicago's Shohei Ohtani hit a grand slam in the sixth inning off St. Louis reliever Jake Diekman to help the G-Men overcome a two-home run, six-RBI game for the River Walkers' Ji-hwan Cung and post an 8-6 win at Busch Stadium.
Chung's first homer was a first-inning grand slam of his own off Chicago starting pitcher Danny Duffy, which staked St. Louis to a 4-0 lead.
The G-Men halved that lead in the second inning on a two-run homer from Brandon Crawford off Walkers starter Carlos Martinez.
Josh Donaldson had an RBI single off Martinez in the third, making it 4-3. The score when Ohtani hit his homer.
Chicago's lead grew to 8-4 in the eighth inning on a solo shot from D.J. Stewart off Jerry Blevins.
The Walkers drew to within 8-6 in the bottom of the eighth on Chung's second homer of the game, this one a two-run shot off Zach McAllister.
But Michael Feliz pitched around a lead-off double from Nicky Delmonico to open the bottom of the ninth to post his 21st save.
