In the bottom of the first, Howard put the Rangers on the board with an RBI double.

Cash led off the top of the fourth with a home run to tie the game.
After six: Detroit 1 Texas 1.
In the top of the seventh, the Tigers loaded the bases with one out. McAuliffe struck outand therewere two down. Cash then hit his second home run of the game, a grand slam.
In the bottom of the seventh, Biittner got the Rangers closer with an RBI double. King then brought Biittner home with a single. Harrah brought King home with a single to make it a one run game. Nelson then gave the Rangers the lead back with a two run single.
Casey Cox took the mound for the Rangers in the top of the eighth.
In the bottom of the eighth, Lolich struck out Burroughs for his 10th K of the game.
Cox set the Tigers down in order in the top of the ninth for another Rangers win.
Final score: Texas 6 Detroit 5.
