Stockdale High School Mustangs
Located in Bakersfield California, opened in 1991, Newsweek ranked Stockdale in the top 6 percent of public schools nationally. The Mustang baseball program has produced 23 players to go on to the next levels of baseball, with 5 playing professionally and 1 playing in the Major Leagues. Pitcher Sean Barker would be that sole MLB rep, pitching in 3 games one season back in 2007 for the Rockies. Arguably, the most accomplished athlete to hail from this school is 2002 NFL 1st overall draft pick, QB David Carr.
