Len Barker save us!!!

OK I changed my mind and decided Len Barker will put the team on his back so I paid above average price for him. Not the most anyone has ever paid for him, but more than the average on the card. Now I'm broke again, and we'll see if Barker starts losing 1-0 and 4-3 games like the other starters.

Phil Niekro is on sale if any of you think he'll pitch better for you. I'm selling for slightly less than the average value on the card back. Haha are we allowed to mention when we're selling players or is that like advertising? Well, I'm losing money on Phil Niekro either way.

Oh-- and I'm trying Kenny Lofton out in center. I dumped Bryce Harper for the season. Maybe I'll try him again next season-- he and JD Martinez are the two most consistent medium or lower priced sluggers that I've noticed, but he just wasn't cutting it for us this season. Since I wasn't getting home runs from center anyway, I'm hoping Lofton can get on base and also bring our defensive efficiency up. He's got an 84 in center with a 110 arm, plus he's 94 speed. He's not nearly as outstanding on the hitting side, but his contact, eye and avoid K's are all in the green, so it's not impossible he could be a decent on-base and speed kind of guy with superior defense. More likely in Diamond level, he'll just hit .098 and I'll be looking for another center fielder to try out. I can't afford Trout, but he's the kind of guy I would like. I was thinking of going with Jim Edmonds again but I want to see what Lofton does. I may as well use this season to experiment. If one of my experiments succeeds, maybe we can finish the season above .500 and get to try again next time. My goal is basically to try to get out of last place. If I can do that, then the goal is to play .500 ball.
