Not sure if this has been brought up. I combed the thread and didn't notice it, but may have just missed it:
Log-in bonuses
As a general baseline, we can consider Perfect Team to have a lot of parallels to freemium games - free to play, large immediate benefits if you put in real world currency. Many games using the freemium model use log in bonuses to keep their players coming into the game every day. Continued engagement/involvement would a) keep leagues more interesting as a player logging in daily is less likely to leave their team stagnant and b) likely add to revenue streams as daily engagement will increase a player's investment in their team, possibly leading to actually investing real world money into their team.
As for the actual bonuses, I do not profess to be an expert; however, something in the vein of a small guarantee of say 10PP (maybe with slight variance here and there) on a normal log-in establishes a base income. From there, it's a matter of adding in rewards for longer streaks. Throwing out an example chain: Days 1-14 (10PP each), Day 15 (Random silver+ card), Day 16-34 (10PP each), Day 35 (Free pack), Day 36-59 (10PP each), Day 60 (Random gold+ card), etc. Ultimately, players could be building up to a larger scale reward for an entire year without missing a single day.
I believe that base income could be valuable for the overall health of PT, and as my example chain shows, it does not necessarily have to be something massive. Spreading out a relatively small amount of PP over a year along with enticing rewards sparingly will help keep some players active, and active players are, as in all freemium models, more likely to break down and spend their real world money than inactive ones.
At the end of the day, I personally will likely be one of those people who does put some amount of money into the game (I already have with my brief time in PT for OOTP 19); however, I feel a system like this will help bring some others to do the same.
