How does this benefit people? If the top complaint today is those who pay rise to the top and there is no way for F2P to compete wouldn't the same thing happen to those that got lucky with their packs? Those with the good initial cards will earn more PP, get more packs, get better players, and the unlucky will far further behind.
All paid for by what, goodwill? The hundreds of extra users all spending $0 to support it. Packs sponsored by Amazon?

I'm guessing idiots (edit, that might be strong, sorry! ) like us fund the whole thing The idea isn't that there are not pay to win guys. Just that they are in their own competition. Isn't that somewhat obvious?
And yes, luck with packs and being smart would drive that model. Just to be clear, I'm not strongly advocating this, just saying it might be an alternative and make it funner for a certain segment of the population.
