It's not about "winning each and every time". It's about not making the mode completely money based. There is a reason real sports leagues use a salary cap.
In my current gold season I started the season with 7 golds and 3 diamonds.
My division rival has 8 golds and 17 diamonds.
So on Monday I knew I was the Wildcard team. Is that interesting? I'm arguing no.
