09/12/1986 - Indians Turn Back Oakland, 5-3
Cleveland and Oakland duked it out at Cleveland Stadium and the Indians came out victorious.
Cleveland right fielder Cory Snyder was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. Snyder, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Indians organization, went 1-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Indians. Ernie Camacho was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 36 save opportunities.
Snyder contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Cleveland in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Snyder took a fastball from Curt Young and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Indians to leap in front, 5-2.
"It was a solid team effort," said Snyder after the game.
