06/23/1985 - Athletics Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Cleveland
The Oakland Athletics defeated the Cleveland Indians, 8-4, at Oakland Coliseum. Oakland designated hitter Dusty Baker was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Steve Ontiveros notched his 10th save in 13 chances. The last-place Athletics lifted their record to 26-42.
Baker had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Athletics went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Baker told the Oakland Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
