St. Louis Cardinals starter John Stuper was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the New York Mets, 7-2. New York has now lost 4 consecutive games.
The Cardinals got a big at-bat from third baseman Floyd Rayford. For the game, Rayford went 1-3 with 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 28th hit of the season gave St. Louis a 3-1 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Rayford said.
