Kong changed teams again, as he was traded IRL back to the Mets.
The Chicago Cubs picked up a win at Wrigley Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 4-3. On the mound for Chicago was right-hander Dick Tidrow, who played a pivotal role in the win. The win was credited to Randy Martz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jesse Orosco took the loss. At 3-0, the Cubs have played well so far.
The Cubs got a big at-bat from third baseman Ken Reitz. For the game, Reitz was 1 for 7 with a double. In the bottom of the 16th, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Chicago a 4-3 lead.
