These are all reasonable suggestions. But I'd rather not spend money at this point and I'd rather use any money I get from others for other things. Opening packs with less than 2K isn't likely going to help. Of course, I could get really lucky on my first pack.
As to the 3rd option, I'm not yet ready to quit. I might just let my team earn PP on it's own for the next season without spending and maybe I'll gamble on packs. I'm not sure at this point.
I guess I was just curious if I was missing something. Opening packs seems like it will fail for most people with low PP incomes, but for the few who are lucky, they could get a boost that could allow them to use their "money" to make even more money. For example, if you have enough PP, you could buy cards that are being sold for too little and then sell them for more. But this can be profitable only if the cards are worth a lot to begin with.
In other words, it looks like PT is mirroring real life here. You need not only a good strategy, but some "money" to get things going and then you need to wisely use it. Add in luck which is also really important and then you can be successful. So perhaps I was just hoping I could find a way around this, but at the moment, it seems like luck and/or patience is the only viable strategy (sans using money).
