I hadn't changed my roster today. I got Corbin the AH last night (8:36PM). I got Betances last night at 9:02 and then added both of them to the active roster. Dominic Smith was in a pack that I bought at 00:45 this morning. I failed to sell him off.
I believe I added Erlin to the active roster when I made the other 2 pitching changes.
It appears the 3 newest active additions to the entire team were set to inactive. Erlin has been on my team, so it just moved him to the reserve roster. The AI didn't replace the 3 pitchers, so I had 4 (tired) starters and 5 relievers.
The reason I had 23 active players is that Dominic Smith was added to my team as a left fielder. Erlin was moved to the reserve roster so his 14 day countdown started 6 game days before I noticed the issue.
It seem like between 2-May and 4-May in the game, these new players failed a check so the server didn't think I had them and they were removed. It probably wasn't the AI because the AI would have replaced them with 'better' players. Since Corbin and Betances were my highest rated reserves, the AI couldn't replace them with anyone with a better rating.
