I have noticed when a guy is tired and your backup replaces him for the next game, the AI will alter the lineup. Sometimes drastically. I have all my reserves to play "only when starter is tired" but if you have some backups that are set to play "every 3rd start" or something, then the AI may be altering the lineups on those days as well. I don't know if this was intended by the developers, but it for sure happens.
