1995 NHL Season Preview
Team Spotlight

Two straight great regular season, but two straight playoff disappointments. Lets look at the
Edmonton Oilers.
Edmonton’s strength is on the blueline. Their top 5 is fantastic.
Lidstrom and
Leetch are stars. So when those two are playing half a game, they are hard to beat.
John LeClair and
Dale Hawerchuk are more then capable of providing secondary scoring, while
Mikael Renberg’s emergence makes the top line very scary.
Edmonton is indeed a top team in the league. Can they get over the playoff hump?
San Jose, about to start their 4th season, has made the playoffs twice, and even beat first place
Edmonton two years ago. Lets take a look at what they have on their team.
Tony Hand has become a legit good player! He scored 30 two years ago, and is the
Sharks leading scorer with 176 points!
John Madden, maybe the worst 2nd overall pick in history, finally made the team last year, but only played 11 mins a game. He still doesn’t look like someone who will contribute, but he’s slated as a 2nd liner. The defense is very weak, without any help on the horizon. They play in a weak division, which benefits their record. The
Sharks are not a good team.
