Not everybody checks the auction house every 30 minutes or an hour so as a seller you may miss that one person who would overpay for your card simply because they never had the chance to see it because it was only available for 30 or 60 minutes.
How many auctions would I miss because I am at work 9 hours of the day or because I sleep 7 hours a night?

Yeah, I saw one guy post a peak Larkin for 15 minute auctions in the middle of the day. Yeah, I bought him eventually after he was posted a few times and the price dropped to just below the cash I had on hand, but I can't imagine a ton of people saw him listed.
