I think hitting is pretty well balanced. You can earn PP with a small-ball approach (hits + SB) or with a power approach (hits + HR). The power approach is easier, but both are viable. I wish there were more achievements for walks and defense, but other than that, I don't really feel forced into a meta to earn PP.

Pitching is different. SP with stuff have a big advantage since you can earn 80 PP for 10+ K games. I haven't found any corresponding achievements for high control/movement pitchers. They all benefit by throwing CG shutouts, but high stuff pitchers have an extra avenue to generate PP the others don't.

I ran a few very flawed tests where I set one team to using all high stuff power pitchers and another team to using high movement/control guys. All were silver/gold and the team ERAs were similar. But the high power team generated a lot more PP because the pitchers kept getting the 80 PP Corner Painter achievement. Ideally, you'd have the same balance with pitching as you do with hitting to open up more strategies and create demand for non-stuff pitchers.
