If any GM in each particualr online league uses Steam this isn't an option, Steam auto updates as best I know (I don't use Steam except for Beta testing). You can prevent this auto update by going to steam and setting yourself offline before opening OOTP. The problem with that is some other games require you to be online so you can't have it both ways to avoid an OOTP auto update.

So while I understand these updates are necessary they do potentially cause some issues with online leagues and their ability to sim.

It gets especially tricky since many GMs are in multiple leagues run by different commissioners and different update schedules.

There isn't a simple answer to this issue but I just ask that it not be ignored/minimized and to note that these aren't minor issues for online leagues.
