the ratings are accurate for scouts and trainers, as far as i know. so, i wouldn't get rid of him unless there was someone better available.
resutls vary. he is a factor, but not the only factor of injuries. he's a fairly small factor at that. nonetheless, pay for a good trainer just like scouts. upgrade when you can and retain, otherwise. if you have a small budget, this is one of the areas where skimping isn't a huge loss of value, and you can get ~above average cheaply.
