We ended August with a double header in San Diego. In Game 1, Bruce Ruffin went against Ed Whitson. The offensive powered us to a 7-4 win. Randy Ready had 2 hits included a HR and 3 RBI. Ricky Jordan and Lenny Dykstra each chipped in 2 hits. Ruffin went 4.2 IP giving 1 ER on 5 htis. Randy O'Neal picked up the win with 3 IP in relief.

Game 2 started off good as we scored 4 in the top of the 1st. Ken Howell gave up 4 in the bottom of the 1st, another in the 2nd and another in the 4th before getting pulled. All together he gave up 6 runs and 5 BB in 3.1 IP picking up his 16th loss. Matt Stevens and Don Carman each gave up 4 ER in relief as the final was 16-4 loss. Lenny Dykstra hit his 5th HR.
