In the bottom of the fourth, the Pirates committed two errors, giving them three for the game. That helped Grady pick up an RBI single to put the Cardinals on the board.
In the bottom of the sixth, Grady tied the game with a two run homer.

In the top of the eighth, the Cardinals committed their third error of the game. The Pirates took advantage with Sebring putting them in the lead with an RBI triple. Bransfield followed with an RBI single.
Leach led off the top of the ninth with a single for the Pirates 10th hit of the game. The Pirates would go on to bring him home on a Beaumont single.
The Cardinals would go down in order in the bottom of the ninth.
