grimebu01, 1928, Burleigh Grimes, SP
Last pitcher in MLB to legally throw a spitball. Finished #3 in MVP balloting in '28 leading the league in wins, complete games, and shutouts.

washihe01, 1974, Herb Washington, PR
Got into 105 MLB games with the A's while never batting once, being used exclusively as pinch-runner. (I do not know how well this translates into a simming environment)

Also, somebody's gotta take care of the Metsies, and it might as well be me. Some of them might be a bit far off, but … eh:

venturo01, 1999, Robin Ventura, 3B
Hit the Grand Slam Single in Game 5 of the 1999 NLCS as part of the Mets.

jonescl01, 1969, Cleon Jones, LF
Batter in the "Shoe Polish Incident" in Game 5 of the '69 World Series. Apparently hit in the foot by the Orioles' Dave McNally with a ball that subsequently bounced into the Mets' dugout, Jones was awarded first base when the Mets produced a ball with shoe polish on it to proof it had struck him in the foot. Jones then scored on Donn Clendenon's homer to help the Mets rally from a 3-0 deficit and win the game and the series.

youngan01, 1993, Anthony Young, SP/MR/CL
Lost an MLB record 27 consecutive decisions between 1992 and 1993 while starting, relieving, and even closing for some hopeless Mets teams.

youngjo02, 1982, Joel Youngblood, OF/3B
Only player in MLB history to collect base hits for two different teams in two different cities on the same day, hitting a single against Fergie Jenkins in Chicago before the Mets traded him to the Expos mid-game. Joel rushed to Philly in time to collect a late single off Steve Carlton, like Jenkins a Hall of Famer.

chitiha01, 1962, Harry Chiti, C
First player to be traded for himself when the Mets picked him up from the Indians for a player to be named later, only to send him back a few weeks later to "complete" the deal.
