There is a feature in Football Manager that I think would be really nice for both FHM and OOTP. They give you an option to put your save in the cloud...this allows you to go to another device (ie. your desktop vs laptop) and play the save from where you left off. I think they limit it to a few slots. There is a work-around. Create a "transfer" directory in your Dropbox and sync that folder. You can then copy the save to where ever your save files are and copy back when done playing. Better still, edit the location file so your saves point to the dropbox folder on your devices and it should always be up-to-date. (Still need to verify that mapping your saves to that folder works.)
