DBL All Star Game a Hit with Fans:
Today Nielsen announced the ratings for DBL's annual All Star game and the long and short of it was - it was a hit. "This year we saw enormous growth in the number of homes viewing the game, said DELMARVA Baseball League's Commissioner Garrett Everson. He continue, "And to tell you the truth, we're not surprised as there really is no better sport in the world. The number of players we have in the league right now that are exceptional, not only for this period of baseball history but for the entire length of the sport's history is beyond compare."
Young Star Helps Propel MarVa Conference to Win in Midseason Classic:
John Minor cemented his status as one of the best in the game with his performance tonight. "It's an honor to even be invited to the game. To be rewarded as the MVP of the game is extra special," the MarVa Conference star said after his great showing. "Just playing on the same diamond as some of these guys is a pure treat." In the game itself, John Minor certainly wasn't the only great player out there, but he did enough in the MarVa Conference's 10-4 win over the Delaware Conference All-Stars. In his 607-game career Minor is batting .279 with 608 hits, 103 home runs, 409 runs scored and 352 RBIs.
The Delaware Squad took an early lead plating 3 in the top of the second thanks to a HR by Jesus Vazquez, and some walks and singles. That lead didn't last long thanks to a 3-run shot by Tyrone Jackson and a 2-run HR by John Minor in the 3rd. After 3 the MarVa Conference was holding a 7-3 lead. After that it was smooth sailing by the MarVa Conference as they locked down the DE's bats.
