The Cubs continue their home stand today as they begin a three game series against the Boston Beaneaters. The Cubs are currently 5-4 on this home stand. The Beaneaters have lost eight of their last eleven. The Cubs lead the season series 13-3.

In the top of the first, Brain put the Beaneaters on the board with an RBI triple.

In the bottom of the first, Schulte tied the game with an RBI single. Later in the same inning, Schulte would score the go-ahead run on a throwing error by Strobel.

In the top of the second, Schulte committed his 10th error in right field and the Beaneaters had a runner on second with one out. But Brown got the next two outs and the error did not hurt the Cubs.

After three: Chicago 2 Boston 1.

In the top of the fourth, Howard stole his 10th base of the season. Strobel then tied the game with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Cubs took the lead back when Evers scored on a Young throwing error.

In the top of the fifth, a Howard sacrifice fly tied the game again.

In the bottom of the fifth, a Tenney throwing error allowed Chance to score from second and the Cubs had the lead again. Evers then scored on a passed ball.

After six: Chicago 5 Boston 3.

In the bottom of the seventh, Steinfeldt drew his 40th walk of the season. But the Cubs would strand a pair.

Brown, however, took care of the two run lead as the Beaneaters could not overcome their six error game.

Final score: Chicago 5 Boston 3.
