Brown had a no-hitter through three.

In the bottom of the fourth, Lumley drilled a one out triple for the Superbas first hit of the game. Jordan followed up with a triple of his own to put the Superbas on the board. Jordan then scored when Alperman grounded out to short.

In the top of the fifth, the Cubs got on the board thanks to an RBI double from Hofman. Evers then delivered a two run single and the Cubs had finally scored three runs in a game without needing extra innings.

In the bottom of the sixth, Hofman made his tenth error of the season at short and Lumley scored from third to tie the game.

After six: Chicago 3 Brooklyn 3.

In the bottom of the seventh, with runners at first and second and nobody out, McCarthy advanced the runners with his 20th sacrifice hit of the season. Lumley then brought both runners home with a single.

McIntire then pitched a perfect ninth to seal the deal.

Final score: Brooklyn 5 Chicago 3.
