The collapsing Cubs continue their road trip today in the third game of the series in New York against the Giants. The Cubs have lost six straight and have scored just seven runs combined in the losing streak.

In the top of the first, Chance, after McGann had dropped a foul popup, took advantage of his second chance and hit an RBI double.

In the top of the third, Hofman hit an RBI double but injured his leg sliding into second. He was replaced by Bull Smith.

After three: Chicago 2 New York 0.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Giants loaded the bases with nobody out. Pickering then put the Giants on the board with a sacrifice fly. Smith committed an error on a Burke grounder and bases were loaded with one out. Ames flew out to center and there were two down. Reulbach then struck out Bresnahan to end the inning and the Cubs still had the lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Pickering tied the game with an infield single that scored Strang from third.

After six: Chicago 2 New York 2.

In the bottom of the seventh, Devlin gave the Giants the lead with an RBI single. Strang then followed with his fourth hit of the game, an RBI double. Dahlen then knocked Strang in with a single. Noonan then dropped a Pickering fly ball and Dahlen scored the inning's fourth run.

In the bottom of the eighth, Bresnahan scored from third when McGann grounded out to first.

The two teams combined to commit nine errors. The Giants had twelve hits and for the seventh straight game, the Cubs failed to score three runs.

Final score: New York 7 Chicago 2.
