Today is the third game in the four game series in Chicago between the Cubs and the Phillies. The two teams have split the first two games in this series. There are no American League games on the schedule today.

In the bottom of the first, it was Chance delivering an RBI single to put the Cubs up 1-0.
In the top of the third, Gleason tied it up with an RBI single. A walk to Magee loaded the bases with two out. Titus then hit a two-run single. Magee then scored on an infield single by Bransfield. A disaster of an inning for the Cubs as none of the runs were earned.
The Cubs quickly tried to get back into the game in the bottom of the third as Hofman scored on a Chance line out to center.
After three: Philadelphia 4 Chicago 2.
Pitching and defense took over the middle innings.
After six: Philadelphia 4 Chicago 2.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Cubs had a golden opportunity to cut into the lead. Steinfeldt doubled but Schulte was thrown out at home trying to score from first.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Cubs put runners on the corners but Chance grounded to first to end the game.
Final score: Philadelphia 4 Chicago 2.
