mil svc time is based on "pro service time" correct?

you only get 1 free year in int'l complex. after that they definitely accrue pro service time, unless that was changed from past years.

i like to wait till the next year because it doesn't affect svc time and they are ~17 most of the time. this may be a small sample, but i have bad luck moving 16 year olds. age is a factor, but it's not an eliminating factor as always for any minor league level.

take 100 playrs all the same except age and place them at various levels. if you see a large enough difference at any combination, it's likely the cause. i'd wager money that an 18yo doesn't fare as well at AAA as an equally rated 24 year old (both rated well enough for AAA too). some will, but fewer in comparison. how much of a factor? upto you.

anecdotal, i do fine dumping fillwer in the next year or as needed. i generally don't see major drawbacks when i send a higher potential guy over ~17+. 16y 290days? not exactly a hard and fast line drawn.
