The Cubs continue their series in Boston against the Beaneaters. The Cubs swept yesterday's double header, outscoring the Beaneaters 18-5 and outhitting them 28-10. The Beaneaters have now lost six straight. The Cubs have won five of their last six.

In the top of the fourth, Young issued his 40th base on balls of the season when he walked Steinfeldt. The Cubs cashed that in with a run scoring single by Sheckard.
Perfection ended with two out in the bottom of the fifth when Strobel blooped a single to right. But he would be stranded there.
In the top of the sixth, the Cubs had runners at first and second with nobody out when Steinfeldt advanced the runners with his 10th sacrifice hit of the season. The Cubs then got a run on an infield hit by Sheckard. Schulte then scored on a Slagle sacrifice fly. The Cubs would load the bases with two out before Evers flew out to center to retire the side.
After six: Chicago 4 Boston 0.
In the top of the ninth, Bates threw Chance out at home as he was trying to score from second on a Schulte single to center.
Pfiester went on to finish the complete game shutout.
